Nana is a Thai restaurant and bar nestled on Queen Street West, offering a more intimate dining atmosphere marked by dim lighting and cozy seating—ideal for a quieter evening or a casual date night. The vibe here leans towards relaxed and low-key, encouraging conversation over thoughtfully prepared dishes and drinks.

The menu presents a range of authentic Thai flavors, with standout options like the Khao Soi Chicken, which consistently draws praise for bringing a taste reminiscent of Northern Thailand to Toronto’s west end. This dish is complemented by other traditional choices such as Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp, Papaya Salad, and Pad Gra Prao Chicken, all served with a balance that tends more toward lighter, fresher Thai profiles rather than heavily creamy or rich interpretations. The Chicken Pad Thai and various spring rolls, including both pork and crab varieties, are also popular for their crispy textures and carefully layered flavors.

Beyond food, Nana’s beverage menu adds another layer to the experience. Fans of Thai classics will appreciate the Thai Iced Tea, while the bar side shines with a curated selection of international wines and cocktails, as well as local beers like Supporo. This makes Nana a convenient spot for casual drinks before or after dinner, appealing to those looking for a blend of dining and a laid-back bar setting.

The restaurant tends to attract people who prefer Thai food that respects traditional seasonings and fresh ingredients over heavy sauces. It’s particularly suitable for diners seeking a comfortable spot to explore Thai cuisine without the crowds or noise typical of larger restaurants on Queen West.

Visiting in the early evening often means a quieter experience before the weekend crowd builds. Service here is noted for being attentive and warm, contributing to an overall understated yet genuine hospitality. If you’re in the mood for a well-rounded Thai meal that favors authentic flavors in a subtle, mood-lit environment, Nana offers an approachable slice of Thailand right in the heart of Toronto’s dynamic Queen West neighborhood.

The dim lighting creates a cozy atmosphere for a date night. However, the food falls a bit short. The curries and pad Thai lacked the flavour I was expecting. Perhaps I simply prefer my Thai cuisine creamy and rich. If you prefer lighter Thai cuisine, this place might be a better fit for you.

What a pleasant and amazing dinner experience this small Thai restaurant was. We started off with the PGP deep fried rolls with tofu, mushroom, basil and red pepper $12.95 which were good but not nearly as good as the Spring rolls $12.95 stuffed with pork and crab, wood ear mushrooms, carrots, glass noodles, basil, cilantro and deep fried…we ordered twice as they were so good. Then the fried chicken salad $14.95 was fabulous as well as the yellow curry fried rice $$21.95 with coconut milk, green onion, chicken, egg and tomatoes. So delicious. The Pad Se Ew $21.95 also great. It was stir fried very wide noodles, gailan, eggs, garlic, oyster & soya sauce. Dinner ended with a Thai dessert. $6.95. Deep fried crepe stuffed banana for the birthday girl. Will definitely be going back. Great service and you felt like you were in Thailand with the decor.

One of my favourite places to eat in the city because it's the closest thing to real Thai food outside of Thailand! The khao soi is legendary for a reason... do yourself a favour and get it!!! I tried take-out for the first time this week and it was prepared with love and care. So so so so so so yummy!!!

Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! Eating healthy has never been easier thanks to this Fried Chicken Laab Salad, with chunks of marinated deep-fried chicken bites tossed in some toasty rice crumbs, mint and onions. The nostalgia factor was kinda strong as they used instant noodles in their Pad Kee Mao, for a soft and comforting noodle texture that is almost sinfully savoury. Stir-fried with shrimp and fish sauce to bring it together, these two are some excellent drinking foods.

We had a great time at Nana! Very warm service and cool vibes galore. Fried chicken salad and the Spring rolls were our favorites. Drink wise the Tamarind mule was the bomb. Good stuff. Will be back.
